Buick launched the 2019 Buick Encore some time ago and so far the car has not really changed much. This is mainly due to the fact that it was essentially an Opel Mokka with a different badge. Now that GM has sold Opel, the future of the 2019 Buick Encore seems uncertain. There are rumors that GM will develop a new model from scratch. This would use the same platform as the Cruze, so it should be a much more refined vehicle than ever before. Thanks to the new platform, it is likely that the car has a slightly longer wheelbase and a wider track. However, it should be of similar size, which would result in a much more muscular crossover.
The 2019 Buick Encore will not show any noticeable visual improvements since it was updated for the 2017 version. It is likely that Buick will offer new color options and possibly a new exterior package with unique accents and details. The 2019 Buick Encore shares the Gamma II platform with Chevy Trax and Spark. It looks good on the road with sculpted body lines, but it’s even better on the inside. The front of the model is defined by the distinctive Buick grille with the winged logo of three swords and the highly accented headlights. It also looks good from the profile since the sturdy size and the design of the rear pillar and the small rear wing add an increased visual interest.
Inside, 2019 Buick Encore boats have an attractive design and a quiet environment, in addition to good materials in all versions. Buyers can choose between different color combinations and nice contrast elements. It is also well equipped in every detail, but its small proportions limit the available space. The 2019 Buick Encore offers 19 buckets behind the rear seats and up to 48 buckets with the second row folded. All models will be well equipped and with IntelliLink brand electronics. The driver’s seat, automatic headlights, LED headlights, keyless entry and ignition will also be standard. Buick is likely to add new security features to the new version and we expect some of them to be standard. The model lacks automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, active lane control and blind spot monitoring with subsequent cross traffic alert. In higher specification versions, it will be updated with fog lamps, automatic climate control, leather upholstery, high end audio system, and more.
Mechanically, the 2019 Buick Encore will not change, but it will avoid the possible introduction of the 9 speed automatic transmission that improves model performance and fuel economy. The basic engine will remain a four cylinder turbocharged 1.4 liter. This version will produce 138 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque in combination with the six speed automatic transmission. The most powerful version will offer 153 HP and a pair of 177 lb-ft. In each finishing option, the model will be available with front wheel or all wheel drive.
Unfortunately, at this point, we still have no confirmation of the release date of the future model 2019 Buick Encore. It seems that GM is already working on a successor behind closed doors. Because of this, they will probably show the new car at some point, probably in early 2019. Its price will also be a bit more different from the current model. If the rumors are going to happen, we can expect a higher starting price for the future 2019 Buick Encore. The car could now start moving closer to $ 25,000, which would allow GM to install more kits on the base model.
