After the 2017 facelift, Honda decided to redo it for the 2018 Honda Jazz, also called Honda Fit in some markets. Maybe we were expecting something more from a new model, but Honda is still right. The current 2018 Honda Jazz is pretty good and the change of face with the addition of new technological solutions will surely prepare it for the years to come. The new 2018 Honda Jazz will have a new look without changing the current design. Recall that 2018 Honda Jazz/Fit is a high-end sedan created and chosen by Honda to compete under the name of Toyota Yaris, and the little Honda is doing pretty well.
The car looks like a small minivan, being big enough for its size. However, it also means a large interior space, so there are no complaints. The 2018 Honda Jazz version brings new design elements, most directly from the new Civic. At the front, the car retains most of the old design lines, but the accents make it look a lot more aggressive than before. A new darkened bar crosses the front of both fog lights, while the grille is enlarged with a longer lower diffuser that makes it look much worse than anything else. At the rear, it seems that Honda has installed a larger roof spoiler, as well as new LED inserts for its taillights. The headlights also receive new DRL LEDs, but Honda will not offer LED headlamps, which is a real shame.
The 2018 Honda Jazz seems to have a slightly improved interior compared to its predecessor. Although the changes are less visible than abroad, they exist. For starters, it seems that the car will come with more padding options. These have only been confirmed on the Japanese market with a new two tone color palette with leather covered seat reinforcements, the rest being covered with suede. Although this is not clearly visible, it seems that the information and entertainment system will change with the new Honda overhaul. This will provide physical volume control as well as a slightly higher resolution screen. This should only improve the user experience considerably.
The car was available in Europe with a single engine option, a 1.3 liter naturally aspirated petrol grinder. It’s good for 102 horses and 123 Nm of torque, enough for an urban car but not enough for the use of the highway. In Japan, however, the car was also available with a 1.5 liter hybrid, while in other markets, it is known that the 2018 Honda Jazz comes with a 1.5 liter naturally aspirated line 4 or 1.5 liter diesel. The 2018 Honda Jazz is expected to expand the range of engines available in certain markets. In Europe, the car can receive the 1.5 liter diesel that has been in demand for a long time. Honda may also decide to offer the hybrid, but it is not yet clear. Most models will still come with a six speed manual gearbox, which is actually one of the best options in its class. In some markets, a 7 speed automatic clutch will be available, while most others will receive the automatic CVT. In fact, this is perfectly suited to 2018 Honda Jazz because it gives more acceleration at low speeds, which is great in urban driving.
The new 2018 Honda Jazz was launched in Japan in June and is expected to be introduced in the United States U.U. In the second half of 2018, the price will not stay out of the previous model and will be around $ 15,000. The European version will be presented in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show, while delivery will begin in early 2018.
